Meet your Asheville, NC Real Estate Agent

   pol·li·nate :

    verb [pä-lə-ˌnāt]

to innovate and collaborate to grow a more sustainable and vibrant community

Working with a Realtor® is one of the most personal professional relationships you’ll ever have.

Within minutes of meeting, you’re sharing details about your finances, your family life, and your big hopes for the future. Not exactly your average conversation topics.

I founded Pollinate Real Estate, because a trusting, genuine relationship with your agent is as essential as knowledge of the market and area.

It’s about creating a space where you feel safe to share your aspirations, your concerns, and even your finances. It’s about building an honest partnership together, one that can be full of pleasure and ease even while you’re navigating one of life’s most major decisions.

I’d be honored to hear your goals and guide without pressure.

I’m Susanne Hackett, a real estate agent (mom, wife, curious homesteader) in Asheville, NC

I’m here to make the real estate process smooth and maybe even a little fun.

What I love about being a Realtor® isn’t just helping people find a place to live, but a place to belong.

At the heart of my approach is the belief that rooting into a place involves contributing to the kind of community that we all want to share. For the last two decades, I’ve been helping to weave the fabric of the Asheville community that I call home, alongside my husband Smith and our children.

I bring more than my industry and market expertise to my real estate practice. I’m a passionate (and serial) entrepreneur, drawing inspiration from experiences that anchor people to their place. As a founder and director of a marketing and partnership building firm and a partner in my husband’s home design and construction firm, my real estate specialization aligns with these skills.

I specialize in listings and have a soft spot for helping buyers find homesteads and mini-farms, as well as new and unique homes.

Often my relationships with clients go beyond just closing deals—connecting them with local resources, sharing insights on everything from the best hiking trails to starting a garden, and being a friendly face long after the keys have changed hands. Because in the end, real estate, like life in these mountains, is all about cultivating meaningful connections and growing together.

In Asheville, you’ll also find me pollinating through…

Pollinate Collaborations (founded in 2009)

Pollinate Collaborations shifts the paradigm from public relations to public relationships through innovative and intentional outreach and partnership plans for businesses, projects, nonprofits and communities.

Following years of working with local businesses (like LaZoom, pictured here), New Belgium Brewing discovered Pollinate during their east coast brewery location exploration.

That partnership enabled me to serve the community by developing a new model of business communications focused on trust, transparency, and community engagement during the construction of the $175 million brewery and taproom on a brownfield site along the French Broad River.

As the brewery rooted into the community, I redirected my focus to my family. We moved from beloved West Asheville to a homestead in Swannanoa, where we raise our  feral and fun children, attempt to grow food, and cultivate an award-winning, design-build construction firm renowned for innovative design and artisan detailing.

Gobble + Gruff Farm (our home since 2018!)

I live with my husband and two kids on an ever (de)evolving homestead on a 6-acre, 150-year old farm. Real life homesteading is a far cry from the clean and oh-so-glamorous, filtered versions you see on Instagram! We get dirty in the mud with our kids, dogs, bunnies and chickens, make lists of things that need to get done (and sometimes do them), and spend a lot of time researching goats. While not pets, we also share the place with: a local fox, many raccoons, black bears, myriad wild turkeys, geese, deer, owls, and a few snapping turtles who have been there longer than they have.

Queen Bee Supper Club (founded in 2024)

The Queen Bee Supper Club is a curated group of entrepreneurial women who gather regularly in “hives” to share their passions and challenges in business. Together they find support and belonging in an intentional space of confidentiality and trust. For more information, reach out to me directly.
